  4. I do not belive in College Ranks. Year to year this becomes different. For getting appraisals and boosting, some colleges are playing games.
What we need to look at is primarlily the infrastructure of the college, location and easy access so that no need of Hostel / bus facilites which costs more than 50,000 rupees per year rather than the actual fee 1,00,000 / year.
Actually, the college which provides at least 60% of the students passing in their examinations is the best one. No doubt about it.

  7. It is difficult to find which college is doing well academically. The college which has a motive for good performance will go for improvements by retaining good faculty and infrastructure.
    Just follow these steps:
    1. Visit the college and find out the total labs (rooms) in the department of your choice.
    2. go through the list of faculty and their profile. If the profile is not in the website, something fishy.
    3. Look for cleanliness and visit the students toilet . (not the visitor toilet)
    4. Talk to a teacher who is known to you (do it outside the college)
    5. See if the department is a research centre of anna university. Good colleges with faculty go for it.
    6. Verify with https://cfr.annauniv.edu/research/instcode.php
    7. Cross verify with https://cfr.annauniv.edu/research/supervisor.php
    8. See if the college figures out in NIRF ranking list here https://www.nirfindia.org/engg
    9. Find how many top IT companies visited and how many candidates they recruited
    10. Find if the college has students active in professional societies IE,I Mech E ,CSI, IEEE etc
    11. Find out if students prepare and appear in GRE,TOEFL,GATE,IES
    12. Enquire about the donation for CSE/ECE seat through MGMT if they admit through.
    13. Look for how many seats they could fill last year in the branch of your choice
    14. Look for outdoor games facilities within campus
    15. Visit the canteen ask whether they prepare puff inside
    16. Look for hostel and see the distance between hostel and mess
    17. Visit the auditorium and Library and look for the space, books and audio visual equipment
    18. Look for smart classrooms in the department of your choice
19.Visit the class room see the ambience and black board and student desks
20.Think about where your boy or girl will sit and eat during lunch hours and where they will wash hands and tiffin box.
21.Have a look at the notice board and college website for consistency.
    22. Finally talk to one of the faculty of the dept of your choice in english

and decide on what your boy/girl will be after four years.
