  1. 183 cutoff – Preferred course Civil Engineering / EC

Is there any possibilities to get government college with any course?

  2. The method used to normalize the marks obtained by students of various Boards for the Engineering Admissions process is flawed.

As per the documentation @ https://tnea.annauniv.edu/tnea2015/pdf/Information%20&%20Instruction%20to%20the%20candidates.pdf

    How is this reasonable ?
The % of students scoring a 200/200 in TamilNadu State Board syllabus far exceeds the % of students scoring the top mark in CBSE / ISC.

The reason for introducing a Common Entrance Examination was to address this difference in Syllabus. Over the years, this was the practice and to give the students a benefit of their effort towards the 12th standard exam, the 12th std marks + entrance marks was used.

This new approach is totally unreasonable. I think the TN Engineering Admissions should revisit the whole process as this is a huge flaw.

    As per above documentation :
Normalisation of Marks and Inter-se Merit
As per Tamil Nadu Acts No.3 of 2007, dt: 05.03.2007 and G.O. (Ms) No.77 HE (J2) Dept, dt: 05.04.2007, the marks
obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by various Boards or
Authority shall be equated with the marks obtained by the students in the same subjects in the qualifying
examination conducted by the State Board of Tamil Nadu by adopting the method of normalisation.
(e.g.) If the highest mark secured by the student of State Board of Tamil Nadu in Physics is 100 and the highest mark
secured by a student of any other Board in the same subject is 90 both the highest marks will be considered to be
equal to 100. If a student of the other Board secures 60 marks in Physics when the first mark in Physics in the same
Board is 90, 60 marks will be considered to be equal to 66.66 marks as arrived below.
    100 x 60 = 66.66 %
    90
After normalisation of marks in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by different Boards, the
qualified students shall be merged into a common merit list.
In the case of candidates who have qualified from National Boards namely CBSE and ISCE. the highest mark
obtained in the relevant subject by the candidates at the National Level alone will be taken into consideration for
    normalisation.
The Other Boards will be requested to furnish the maximum marks scored in the relevant subjects. In case, such
marks are not available before the preparation of rank, the maximum marks scored in that Board will be considered
    as 100 %.

    1. Dear Swaminathan sir,
The method of normalization of other board marks and equating method with raw marks of TN- HSC students as dictated by ACT 3 of 2007,Tamilnadu ,- are ARBITRARY,unscientific, unfair, illegal, unconstitutional, non transparent ,exploitative and patently INHUMANE.IT is jeopardizing the dreams of entire meritorious students in Tamilnadu. This impugned method & illustration of normalization has to be quashed and in stead, statistical approved normalization has to be inserted in the said ACT.Please fight for it.Please contact me.Thanx.
